Mission Foods

As Europe’s leading flat bread company, Mission Foods manufacture a wide portfolio of high quality corn and flour products, and are a well-recognised brand across the food retail sector.

The Production Team at Mission Foods factory in Coventry were experiencing issues relating to the storage of tools and equipment. We worked closely with Manufacturing Manager Steven McKellar, to deliver the solutions they needed.
The seemingly basic issues presented by Steven are all too common within food manufacturing, and leads to high levels of inefficiency within teams who lack a co-ordinated method of equipment management.

The client presented this issue to Klipspringer in one quick telephone call, knowing that they would likely be able to advise and provide a solution. Having completed a full on-site survey of Mission’s production area, the graphics team at Klipspringer designed bespoke boards so that they could target and resolve the exact issues that they were experiencing. Individual boards designated to each production line have meant that equipment no longer has to be issued out to each shift, and equipment only goes missing in exceptional circumstances.

With the project completed in just a few weeks, the production team has been delighted with the finished result. They commented:

“The place always looks so clean. Now we have shadow boards with a separate set of equipment per line, the cleaning and engineers’ tools are always available whenever they need them.”
For anyone looking into shadow boards as an effective solution to equipment storage and segregation, the clients key tips are as follows:

“The key is to have enough shadow boards in the right locations, and with all the tools that staff would need for that area. This helps the operatives to embrace the benefits, rather than keep storing tools elsewhere or in lockers where they think they are safe!”
